OVERVIEW:   

Brown-Forman believes highly in engaging with people to educate and support the local community, and friends to build the on and off premise. We are excited to celebrate local bar enthusiasts, as well as to give back to our local community. We hope that people will come out to support and help us celebrate the people that shake things up behind the bar and in their community every day. 

Contestants will submit their online recipe submissions utilizing no more than 3 ingredients (not including garnishes) which will be scored on originality, taste, and presentation. The top 10 will be offered a spot to have their cocktail showcased live at the in-person event where Albuquerque Whiskey Society members will get to vote for their favorite. 

RULES AND REGULATIONS:

Open to all cocktail enthusiasts (not in the industry)
What: Jack Daniel’s Three Mix bartender competition

Why: To push the limits of creative premium cocktails, and promote responsibility in everything we do.

Submission Deadline: May 3, 2024

THE CHALLENGES: 

Round 1. Submit an original recipe online using Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey as the base ingredient along with two other ingredients that are readily available in retail (i.e. Cola, Lemon-Lime Soda, Aromatic Bitters, Liqueurs, Amaros, Aperitifs, fruit juices) 

Round 2. The top 10 original recipe winners will be offered a spot to compete at the live in-person event at Bama’s where either they or a Bama’s bartender will mix their drinks and allow for attendees to sample their cocktail. Attendees will receive one poker chip upon arrival/registration and can use that chip to vote for their favorite drink. The top three recipes with the most chips at the time of judging win. 

You may use Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey as stated above, along with any ingredients you wish to bring and or garnish you would like to create. Please keep your original cocktail creations to three ingredients not including garnish. The account will provide the spirit, basic bar supplies, basic soda and juice mixers and ice. Please bring any specific ingredients and ice required to craft your cocktail. Special requests can be made by texting (626) 807-6399. All requests will be considered but not guaranteed. 

PRIZING:

• 1st Prize package worth an estimated $400 
• 2nd Prize package worth an estimated $200 
• 3rd Prize package worth an estimated $100 

Taxes are the sole responsibility of the prize winners. No substitution/transfer of prize permitted. Alcohol is not part of any prize. 

GENERAL RULES: 

This program is open to all consumers that are not currently employed as a bartender, employed by liquor companies or distributors as full-time employees. 

Competitors must be at least 21 years of age. 

Competitors must be legal United States Residents, residing in the state of New Mexico. Void where prohibited. No purchase is necessary 

PUBLICITY: 

By entering this program, you are giving Jack Daniel’s, and its affiliates explicit rights to use your photo, an image of your drink, drink recipe name, and your drink recipe for publicity purposes, including but not limited to press, social media, digital activation and promotional activation. 

JUDGING CRITERIA:

• Original Cocktail Creation – (20pts) 
• Taste and balance (10pts) 
• Creativity and Originality (5pts) 
• Relevance and appeal of recipe name (5pts)
   

GUIDELINES AND REQUIREMENETS:
Cocktails in bartending Original Cocktail Creation should be true to form
Original and Signature recipes must be original. An original recipe is a product of one’s own
mine is not a copy or imitation
Recipes must not exceed 3 ingredients including drops, dashes (does not includes sprays or
garnish)
